Have found, with metal detector, an 1859 seated quarter with possible die break or crack. Am sending to ANACS for varification. Coin is EF grade,(at least). There are two chips,(front and back), along left edge side of coin. And a crack on reverse running from top of "N" in United, through "I_T_E_D". Then through bottom of "D" extending through center of "S" and into top of "T", all the way to where the dies meet. Is this a known die break or crack? Or could this be a new var. if it is , in fact, such. If it is a known die var. could you tell me which Ref# it is? THANKS TODD

Question:
Have you ever heard of an 1853 Seated Quarter without arrows on the reverse, and rays on the reverse?

I believe that the 1853 Recut Quarter does NOT have rays on the reverse/
