Dear Readers:

I was wondering if anyone can provide me with information concerning the variations that exist in the reeded edge of the Barber Quarter series, specifically as such relates to the San Francisco Mint.

What prompts my question is my recent discovery of this phenomenon (higher density reeding) on a high grade 1895 S quarter.

Thank you in advance.

Tina,
The PCGS price guide lists a PCGS certified 1893-O as having a retail value in the following grades as follows:
Good-4 $12, Fine-12 $32 and XF-40 $105.

Hope that helps,

Hi
I am lost with all these web sites trying to find the value of My 1893 Barber quarter. It is a O series and in pretty good condition I think. The eagles wing is covering most of the letter E in United and most of the letter E in States. The hair is warn on the front as well as the eagle's tips of his wings. I can still read Most of the lettering on the ribbon the eagle is holding! It has all the ribs on the side of the quarter and has turned alittle black on the outside of the coin.
can you help me! I was told I could only get .50 cents for it I dont belive it!! I would love to hear back from you. .
Thanks
Tina
