Type One dollars stopped production in 1854. We have never heard of any Type one&#039;s dated 1855. Could the date actually be an 1853?

If you are sure it says &quot;55&quot; I&#039;d suggest you have the coin authenticated by either NGC (www.ngccoin.com) or PCGS (www.pcgs.com)
