My grandson has a 1866-S No Motto half dollar with an extremely fine reverse. The obverse has an excellant rim and shows great detail on her shoe. However, there is a large blob of metal that covers the center of the coin from the breast line down below the left knee and over the top right corner of the shield, which has distinct lines except where the blob covers it. There appears to be a clash or brokage of the dies as there appears to be an extra hand holding the staff (below the right hand) and on the reverse, "V" shaped, short line inside the shield on the right size.

The question is "How do you grade a coin like this?"
