Cuba fights fakers of tourist paper notes
Cuba has a double standard regarding its currency. There is the Cuban peso system used by average citizen, and there is the “pesos convertible†system in theory used exclusively by foreign visitors but in fact also used by members of the ruling Communist Party elite. Both systems include coins and bank notes, but the standard system is not convertible into any other country’s hard currency. The pesos convertible currency is exchanged for hard currencies when someone enters Cuba.
