Blanchard Offering the John Jay Pittman 1843 Proof Gold Set for Sale
Blanchard
One of the highlights of the Pittman collection’s auction, that sold for over $30 million in the late 1990s, was the ten coin 1843 Proof Boxed Set. While Platinum Night, which I discussed last week, contains the glitziest and priciest coins, the nonfloor sessions, held immediately after the convention ends, illustrate a different sector of the market.

We have some great responses to my query about the segments of the John J. Ford collection sold outside of the twenty-one landmark Stack’s sales. Comments are invited.
