		<description>Dear Mr Reynolds,
I read your article on the Washington Lafayette medal and have been doing research on my coin/medal also dated 1784. There are no records of any other and I continue to search, so thought you may be the man to give it a little investigation.

It is 100% genuine and authentic, and is an OCTAGONAL silver coin approximately 33 (millimeteres in diameter.

It is inscribed:
(one side) "ville de paris" it has a ship with 17 fleur de lis above it.
(other side) Prevoste de M. L. le Peletier Conseil D'etat" 1784 with coat of arms with crown and 2 unicorns on either side of cross with star on each side of cross and rose on base of cross. In center of cross is an inverted v.

My research is that it is for Michel Le Peletier Marquis De Saint-Fargeau...the important French minister that cast the vote that executed King Louis xvi...plus in 1793 the French Navy 74 gunner SEDUISANT was remamed Peletier after him. Peletier in turn was assassinated just prior to the French Revolution, and was honored as ist casualty and his daughter painted by Frances most famous painter, and she was adopted as a "daughter" by the French Nation. Just very brief..but I think important UNKNOWN????? AS FAR AS i CAN TELL THIS OCTAGONAL COIN/MEDAL. MAKES GOOD READING FOR AN ARTICLE???
p.s.
i BOUGHT IT RECENTLY ON EBAY FOR ABOUT $220.
