Auburn, Washington, September 19, 2008 — Northwest Territorial Mint today announced it has reached a settlement with the office of the Washington State Attorney General with regard to a lawsuit brought earlier this year.
“We are happy to announce that we have settled with the Attorney General after the state had made numerous allegations, many of which had no basis in fact,” said Ross Hansen, President.
As part of the agreement, Northwest Territorial Mint agreed to clarify the language of its web site to more clearly state its delivery policies — policies that remain substantially unchanged from those which have been in place since the company went into business in 1984.
Assistant Attorney General Paula Selis said that “this Consent Decree should not reflect adversely on Defendant’s business practices.” (Page 2, lines 17&18 of the Decree).
A small settlement and related costs were paid to the Attorney General’s office in order to resolve the matter to allow the Company to return its attention to the servicing of its clients.
Northwest Territorial Mint admitted no wrongdoing in the settlement, which was acceptable to the Attorney General’s office.

I made a substantial commodoties order from Northwest Territorial Mint with the written understanding the order would be delivered in 70 days, as an outside number. When 100 days had passed I wrote them and demanded my money back and canceling the order. The have refused to return my funds. In settling the suit with the Attorney General’s office Northwest Territorial Mint agreed to offer the spot market price if they could not deliver on time, but they never contacted me in any way. They also agreed to refund a customer’s money if they did not make said offer by the time delivery was due, but they did have refused my request for a refund. This company has a record of taking people’s money and doing what they want with it, ignoring customer’s appeals. The Attorney General’s office is a conservative institution, they don’t go around suing companies unless they are screwing people and engaging in unfair business practices. A good business policy is not to do business with a company that has been sued by the Attorney General. Take your money elsewhere and trust it with a reputable firm.

I purchased a mega box of silver eagles on 4/6/09 and on 7/7/09 have still not received a shipping order. In the settlement with the State Attorney General, the President of Northwest Territorial Mint says that their products will be shipped 30 days after payment clearance time of 10 days. That means that I should have received my shipment on or around the latter part of May. I have called three times to find out about my shipment and have been told different stories each time. The last time, I was told that shipment would be between June 20th and July 4th. Here we are at the 7th of July and no response.

I ordered and paid for 5 Krands on 6/15/09 – have received several notices about delay of shipment. Now they are saying October 15th. I will be sending a formal letter of the purchase cycle to both the better business bureau and the Attorney General’s office (WA).
I can not recommend this vendor for any commodity.
