Spink moves into bonds and shares with world leading expert
Spink is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of assets of Collectors Gallery.
We look forward to welcoming Mike Veissid, Managing Partner of Collectors Gallery, as the Director for Spink’s new Bond and Share department. He will join the London office on the 4th of December 2007. He brings along with him a well known brand name in the business as well as one of Europe’s largest stocks of Shares and Bonds, which is certainly the best in the world for British and Commonwealth material.
Mike started out in the auction business at the age of 19 working in the Coin Department of Sotheby’s on Bond Street. In 1976 he founded his own business dealing in the new field of Bonds and Share Certificates. This was a business originally set up with offices in Trafalgar Square which moved to Shropshire in 1985. In 1987 he acquired Peter Jones Numismatic Books and in 1992 the Collectors Gallery was founded which dealt not only in Bonds and Shares but also coins, banknotes, medals and stamps. Mike commented, “I am excited to accept this position with Spink and look forward to putting 100% effort back into the Bond and Share market with the help of such a prestigious firm.”
Olivier Stocker, Chairman & CEO of Spink, stated:
“After an extremely eventful year we look forward to bringing yet another area of collectables under the Spink name. I am delighted that we have been given the opportunity to go forward with this project with one of the foremost experts in the world, Mike Veissid, who will make a very useful addition as Spink continues to expand its global footprint in the world of collectables.”
