Sadly, it appears the countries that claim it should be theirs are as greed driven as they claim the salvage companies are. These treasures have been down in the ocean for decades or centuries. These nations have had no interest in them until the work is done by others to bring it out. The best answer is a team effort where the salvage companies conduct archeology as does Odyssey and provide archeological as well as salvage. You have to offer the salvage company some reasonable portion of the salvage value (purchased if not retaining the actual items) to incent them to continue their work. Otherwise, these treasures will never be salvaged and all will lose this rich heritage except those salvage operators that work illegally in the black market.

An act of Historical Vandalism? It's been at the bottom of the ocean since 1666, for Heaven's Sake. No one can view it down there. I say let OMEX bring it up and let's take it from there. If the French want to claim it, then fine, but reward OMEX for its troubles...
