I have inheirated quite a few coins with my grandfathers passing, i have a beautiful indianhead penny with some gorgeous electric blues and magenta coloring..and among his small collection of buffalo nickels, i have found a 1926s...basically, i was wondering what their worth. They have strong markings and dates, but not in uncirculated condition..but the horn is somewhat visible still on the buffalo nickel.. can someone tell me if they worth insuring! I am not mentally ready to depart with any of these coins, as they were giving to me from my grandfather. please if someone could give me an idea, it would be greatly appreciated
Thank you for your time,

I got a coin that is similar to the ones above. it's silver color has a buffalo in the back which seems to be type 2 because of the line above the five cents, in the front has the head of an indian but the number I'm able to make out near the neck on the left end side is 35, the side is soft and not scored. What kind of type 2 buffalo nickel is it? and would you know what it's worth?
Thank you.

WHAT A WONDERFULLY INFORMATIVE ARTICAL.. I WILL PRINT IT OUT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.. I HAVE A 1925-D & A 1928-D BUFFALO NICKEL WHERE ON THE REVERSE SIDE THE BUFFALO IS ON ABOUT A 45% ANGLE AS COMPARED TO ALL THE OTHER BUFFALO'S IN MY COLLECTION... DOES THIS ADD ANY VALUE TO THE COIN?

THANKS IN ADVANCE,
ALAN ROBERTSON
