I live in Virginia and my grandma was in her garden and found a James Madison Dollar-- it is dated 1817-1825 and had in god we trust on it. It is gold. that is about it. Please let me know more about what you think. thank you,
            Kathy

It happens, I personally have a 2000 P Sacagawea that was struck on a Susan B Anthony Planchet in my hands currently that I had certified through ANACS. I found it at my local bank.

I smell something fishy about this story. The only dollar coins I've ever even gotten in circulation was as change from the post office vending machine. And even there, I'm still getting 1979 SBAs and 2000 Sacagaweas instead of the new Presidential coins. Find a plain one in circulation seems fishy let alone a rare error as this.
