‘Super’ Collector Selling Group
Collector Gene Witkcowski has experienced failing health, and his grouping of scarce 1952 proof “Superbird” quarters have been consigned to Michael S. Fey, Ph.D., of Rare Coin Investments, Fey reported July 5.
“If anyone deserves the honor of being known as ‘Mr. Superbird,’ it would be Gene,” Fey wrote in a tribute to Witkcowski.
Less than a year ago, Witkcowski and Fey would drive to shows together, visit local coin stores in the greater New Jersey area and surrounding states, and talk about their favorite subject — coins.
