The Ultra Collection was assembled by a distinguished numismatist with impeccable taste. Our Phoenix offerings feature 25 coins from this magnificent collection; 24 grade as Gems or better, and 21 are proofs. 17 of the coins boast Deep or Ultra Cameo contrast. The quality of these coins is simply extraordinary.

Any numismatist who has read his Red Book is familiar with the Stella, the curious and popular four dollar pattern coin widely collected along with regular issues. The Ultra Collection contains no fewer than three such coins – two of the relatively common 1879 Flowing Hair variety, and one Ultra-rare 1880 Flowing Hair, which we have chosen to grace the cover of our catalog for the auction.
