Your website providing us with details about the 1879 and 1880, $4 dollar, Stella coins is, by far, the most informative I've come across so far. The only, remining "mystery" for me is how the coin name of "Stella" was arrived at. Some sources explain that the name Stella is derived from the fact that it has something to do with the 5-pointed star on the reverse. I don't see the connection.

Bottom line -- What logic was used (by those given the responsibility to do do) to come up with that name that even appears on the reverse of the coin?
