Dumb? I dont think so. How many people check £1 coins? I know I dont but I always check bank notes – very carefully.
He got away with it for long enough and the coins are still out there in use. Clever guy – only mistaske he made was being caught

World’s Dumbest Criminal? He is dumb enough to mint fake one pound coins. I think that better way to print 50 pound bank notes instead. Since much easier and cheaper to just print paper bills than mint coins!
