Europeans Get Chance to Vote on 2009 Commemorative Euro Design
As reported today in the International Herald Tribune, Europeans in the 27 member nation European Union have been invited to vote for their favorite design for the new commemorative €2 coin marking the 10th anniversary of the union’s single euro currency.

The five designs under consideration were selected from 42 original designs submitted by national mints from across the 15 nations that actually use the euro; Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Greece, Austria, Portugal and Finland, Slovenia, Cyprus and MaltaThe winning design in this selection process will be only the second commemorative Euro coin. Last year, a €2 coin was issued to mark the 50th birthday of the European Union.
The five final designs are posted on http://www.eurodesigncontest.eu and the public has until Feb. 22 to cast their vote, with the winning design to be announced on Feb 25th.
In addition, one lucky person will be randomly selected out of all the votes cast to receive a collectors set of gold euros.

Since I can’t vote for design of 2009 Euro Coin. So if I can, I will vote for D (no.4) on ballot. The design with big “E” for Euro!
