Giant pound coin in Potters Fields to promote People’s £50 Million
[LONDON - UK] A 12-ton, 25-ft pound coin was installed in Potters Fields Park last week tosymbolise the £50 million Lottery funding about to be decided by public vote.
The giant coin is seven metres high and 70cm deep – large enough to hold 50 million pound coins. The structure was created by scanning a real pound coin and using 3D data to design and cut all the materials used.
Made from wood from a sustainable source, the coin will be recycled and all materials reused following its time at Potters Fields Park.
