I too have a coin very similar to the one that Stan describes in the above comment . Mine has most of the characteristics of the silver $20 coin with one side being upside down when turned over. It also has the reeded edges and the weight is very close to the silver coin and yet it is gold in colour. Do you have any info on this coins origins. Thanks. Rob

Hi Peter: I have a 1862 Government of British Columbia $20 dollar Coin in my collection. It is gold in color but it doesn't have the sheen of pure gold.I have read what I can find about it In the enclyopidia and was left with a unanswered question. That question is was it ever reproduced for a coin show in a different metal? Stan

There were jeweller's coins made from 9 kt gold at that time but I need to see the designs. There were other small gold coins made in California in the 1900's

Hello: I am preparing an exhibition on BC Design History (earliest to present). I have a number of gold coins from BC. They are small one with goddess and the other with native. Do you have information or can you direct me to an article about these coins that were, apparently, made in the early 1900s?
