BEP Display First Time Ever Much Anticipated New $5 Bill
DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY BUREAU OF ENGRAVING AND PRINTING to participate in the Whitman Baltimore Coin and Collectibles Convention in Baltimore, Maryland
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (Bureau) will exhibit at the Whitman Coin and Collectibles Convention (info@bccenter.org) in Baltimore, Maryland, November 16-18, 2007, at the Baltimore Convention Center, One West Pratt Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201.
The Bureau will display, for the first time ever, a sheet of the much anticipated New $5 Bill; Safer, Smarter, More Secure.
The Bureau will also proudly showcase its “Billion Dollar Exhibit” which features more than a billion dollars of rare and antique currency including sheets of $100,000 currency notes, Treasury Bonds, and Gold and Silver certificates. Also, the Bureau will have on display an exhibit featuring a Series 1934D – 12 Subject - $5 Richmond Face Plate, a Series 1934B – 12 Subject - $10,000 Richmond Face Plate, and a rare Series 1934 – Multi-Denominational ($5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $500, $1,000, $5,000, $10,000) Richmond Face Plate.
Additionally, the Bureau will have an antique (19th Century) Spider Press at this convention. A technical expert on currency production will conduct printing demonstrations on the press and answer questions. There will also be live demonstrations by members of the Bureau’s Office of Engraving and the Mutilated Currency Examination and Redemption staffs. (more…)
